What is this "Two Part Authentication"?

You may have been hearing about this a lot lately, here is an excellent article that i found that does a great job of explaining it very well.

Imagine your front door. You usually need one key to get in, right? Now, two-part authentication (or 2FA for short) is like adding another lock to your door, but instead of another physical key, this second lock asks for something else to confirm it's really you.

So, first, you use your "key," which might be your password (something you know). Then, the second step asks for an additional proof—like a code sent to your mobile phone, a fingerprint, or even a face scan (something you have or something you are).

The idea is that even if someone gets hold of your password, they still can't get past that second lock. It’s an extra layer of protection for your online accounts—like putting a chain on your door or a double lock!
