Slough

We recently received the following from one of our previous speakers......

I performed a speaker spot for your Slough U3A group last November (where has that time gone)! I wanted to let you and your group know about a special charity concert I am putting on, on Friday October 10th - in case anyone might like to come? I am aware - because someone announced it at Steve Hutchinson's speaker spot - that there is a trip going on, on October 10th, for members of your group but I thought either not everyone might be going on the trip or some might like to round off the trip with a show - you never know? 😉

I have a family member, who is suffering with a severe mental health condition. I have been struggling to help them for over a decade now but it has been extremely difficult! My thoughts have been heavily focussed on this problem and it has helped to inspire the writing of an album called "The Journey Within".

After two years of work on this project, myself and my Kindred Spirit Band (who have been favourably compared to Fleetwood Mac) have just released this double concept album. The story explores the journey of an unstable mind towards equilibrium via the metaphor of a fantastical, "Alice In Wonderland" like, dreamscape journey along an energy pathway. It has been described as,

We are putting on a special Album Launch Concert for this work on Friday, October 10th, which is "World Mental Health Day". We are staging it at a small theatre in Richmond Upon Thames and hope to raise money for "Richmond Mind".
