We will next meet on Monday 20th April at St. Laurence's Church at 2pm for an "Air and Share" about childhood outdoor games such as "Oranges and Lemons" and "The Farmer's in his Den" and reminisce about playgrounds. There will be a quiz to start us off and then I would like us all to share with one another about the playground games that we remember and loved. We are of a generation when we enjoyed a lot of freedom as children and it will be good to share our memories of where we grew up. Those brought up in Slough can probably tell us about the local parks and streets they played in but we can all share our memories of our childhoods, wherever we grew up.
In February, Geraldine Shircore and myself met with the School Council at Langley Heritage Primary Academy (formerly Parlaunt Park School) to share with them about our childhood games and we ended up playing "Oranges and Lemons" and "The Farmer's in His Den" with them. It was a most enjoyable, fun time with the children who were aged from 6-11 years.
