MOTTISFONT HOUSE AND GARDENS

Friday 12th June

Depart Upton Court Park 8.45am

Depart Mottisfont 4.00pm

Mottisfont, near Romsey in Hampshire, is a National Trust 18th century house with a medieval Priory at its heart. The house was transformed into a neo-classical home in the 1930s

There are riverside walks and an ancient spring.

The stunning rose garden hosts a world-famous collection of old-fashioned roses which flower once a year during the Rose Festival in June (what a coincidence!).

You can buy local produce in The Shop and garden resources in The Plant Centre.

There is also a permanent collection of 20th century art on display in the house.

There are two cafés for drinks and light lunches.

There will be an optional walk led by Joyce Keegan of about 4.5 miles in the wider Mottisfont Estate.

Journey time is approximately 1hr 20mins. The coach will drop us off by the visitor centre which has toilets, hence we won't be making any stops en route.

Cost is:

£17 for National Trust and Art Fund members (no need to specify)

£39.80 for non-National Trust/Art Fund members

DUE TO HIGH DEMAND PLEASE NOTE, IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, THIS TRIP WILL BE FOR U3A MEMBERS AND RAMBLERS ONLY (CARERS WILL BE ALLOWED,) GUESTS WILL BE OFFERED A PLACE ONLY IF THERE ARE ANY SPACES LEFT
